Last week the doors opened to one of our newest labours of interior design love: West Five Presentation Centre. Working alongside our client, Orr Development, the architect, Yamamoto Architecture Inc., and the marketing team, BLVD, we created an immersive environment that gives potential homeowners the opportunity to experience the building prior to construction.

West Five is a boutique, low-rise community that features studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom residences ranging from 432 – 1,946 SF. The units feature nine-foot ceilings, gourmet kitchens, and expansive views. Located at 1819 West 5th Avenue in Kitsilano, it’s within walking distance to some of Vancouver’s top-notch beaches, shopping, and dining.

As the interior design team behind the project, Cutler took a Scandinavian-inspired approach to create an understated elegance. Thoughtfully-curated, luxury materials in two options of neutral colour palettes create cozy yet refined spaces that invite you home. Dramatic veining in the marble slab backsplash contrasts the clean lines of the kitchen and highlights the high-end appliances. The wide-plank engineered hardwood floors we selected will stand the test of time in both durability and aesthetic, and give a nod to the surrounding Vancouver landscape. Open layouts in the units allow natural light to flow freely throughout the space and provide a scenic backdrop. For the finishing touches in the presentation centre, we injected some artistic flair with handcrafted wood furniture pieces and sculptural touches of golden glam.

The Cutler team drew from our effective retail strategies and experience in multi-family housing projects to develop a presentation centre that was both welcoming and impressive. Less than twenty units were available after the VIP opening party.

West Five opens its doors to the public officially the weekend of May 2nd at its Grand Opening Event. The development is currently in preconstruction and is scheduled for completion in 2017.
