The Students’ Union of VCC: A Home for Student Life
The Students’ Union of Vancouver Community College (SUVCC) represents and supports students at VCC, serving as a hub for student life, services, and advocacy. It provides programs, resources, and a sense of community that help students connect and thrive throughout their studies. As an organization centered on the student experience, the spaces it occupies play a meaningful role in welcoming students and bringing the community together.
A Student Union Office and Lounge
Completed in 2024, this 1,200-square-foot student union office and lounge in Vancouver, British Columbia, was designed to support both the day-to-day work of the Students’ Union and the students it serves. The design balances functional office space with a comfortable, welcoming lounge environment, creating a place where students can gather, connect, and access support. Careful planning helped make the most of a compact footprint while keeping the space approachable and inviting.
Cutler’s Role
Cutler was pleased to provide architecture, interior design, and project consulting services for the Students’ Union of Vancouver Community College. Applying the art and science of architectural design, our team worked collaboratively with the client to create a holistic, people-first space in which no detail was overlooked. The result is an office and lounge designed to serve the Students’ Union and to offer VCC students a welcoming place within their campus community.
