“If it feels wrong it must be right” in the great words of fashion rebel ManRepeller.  Last month I had the pleasure of sitting in on a discussion “Innovation the life blood of Design” at 100% Design in London.  This resonated with me because it confirmed that as a designer we are expected to take risks and to truly innovate you must do so without care of the outcome.

Gone are the days we are encouraged to play it safe, however I find myself worrying about my interior design work…Thinking things like “will my mother-in-law like this project” Wrong question…. When I’m working with clients I should be thinking “will my clients like this” and when I’m working on my own home “do I love this” or “do we love this”.  Note to self: Don’t design for everyone.  Design with purpose and for the client.  Amen.
